bread and roses - 2011

poster for the "bread and roses" exhibition celebrating the centenary of the international women's day. This project was ordered by the Swansea Women Center the title of the exhibition was inspired by the song "Bread and Roses"

• As we go marching, marching, we battle too for men,
• For they are women's children, and we mother them again.
• Our lives shall not be sweated from birth until life closes;
• Hearts starve as well as bodies; give us bread, but give us roses.

Woman's hair is used as a metaphor of imagination and sensuality.
